Transform a tricky relationship with this exercise

A couple of weeks ago I joined leadership coach Carla Miller on her Influence & Impact podcast for a conversation about all things work relationships. We asked you to get in touch with your work relationship challenges which we shared our thoughts on during the episode, and here it is! I can’t wait to hear what you think:

We cover:

  • The four elements I have in mind when working with any clients on a work relationship issue to ensure we are both considering our emotional response and coming up with a practical way forward.
  • The challenges of not getting our needs met at work, having differences in approach with colleagues and leading when there’s a lot of change going on that’s causing disruption amongst colleagues.
  • My brand new for this podcast exercise on how to start thinking through a tricky work relationship that is designed to bring you new insight – grab a paper and pen.

When work is going brilliantly, it’s often because we feel we’re having an impact, like we belong in our team and are appreciated for our contribution. When we face challenges, often it’s on account of the relationship we have with others, and with our ourselves (two things which are hugely interlinked of course.) So I hope this podcast episode is a useful way of grabbing some reflection on your relationships and you never know, you might find new inspiration to approach them in a slightly different way.
